While soccer is a game and by nature, games can become competitive. EWSL asks that you remember that coaches are volunteers and they volunteer because they love the game. They want to help your young athlete learn this great sport of soccer, learn sportsmanship, integrity, to be safe from physical, verbal and emotional abuse and above all, have fun! Support your coach by not side-line coaching your player. Support your coach by supporting everyone at the game. Support your coach by cheering on the team.
EWSL asks that you remember that officials are people too and that most of our soccer officials are children. These children are learning how to officiate a game they love, so that your child may have a game, in a safe environment, to play. While you may not agree with each call an official makes, it is the official's game to call. If at any time an official feels that they or the players are not safe to continue the game play, they are advised to stop the game.
Please support all of those that are working and volunteering today, so that your kid may have a sport to play and a game to play. Remember, games are when your child gets to show you how hard they have worked in practice. Sit back, smile, relax and enjoy the game that your child loves. You only have so many years to enjoy this, as children grow, and before you know it, you wont have a youth soccer game to attend.
This season, enjoy soccer a little differently.
This season, support your player, your team, your coach and your official more positively.
This season, get in the habit of thanking your officials for their dedication.
This season, create new memories with your player.
Thank you,
Eastern Wisconsin Soccer League
